Where in the diamond had you come
I will never go to that place ever again
Well, you were crying in the dinosaur museum
Well I’m never gonna sing this song

I’ll be
in the one
who is walking
in the place
by my side
for the one
who is walkin’
away
back down the street and what you wanted to say
ever in the world
you never send me to there
and there
by i’m a honkey-tonkin girl
your good that was
gonna clap my hands to the music

  • Did the transition to Mobile Me actually fix .Mac? So far, my sync stuff has been, um, working. That seems unpossible. #
  • Just did the iPhone commute movie thing with The Big Lebowski for the second time in as many months. Damn, what a great flick. #
  • @truk77 The first time I ever watched it, I was bored. #

  • What’s up with the whole “jogging with a backpack on” that, literally, every jogger in London is doing these days? #
  • Finally back at home in Vienna. London was a blast, but it feels great to be at Spidesee Konkajoonee (Maple’s name for our pad). #

  • @extraspecial Transit is a bit of a mess. Lines down a lot and busses are stuck in traffic. Plus: no elevators/escalators for strollers! #
  • Getting a late start to our London day. I don’t need to work today or tomorrow, so it’s family vacation London style starting now. #
  • Burrough Market was kick ass. The products were all basically the top end, the people were nice. Yuppie Heaven and not that expensive. #

  • So far, if it were a contest, Vienna would be winning for transit and beer, but London would be crushing in almost everything else. #
  • Also, in the contest of which city could bankrupt me quicker, London takes the game no contest. This town is expensive for real. #
  • Just ate the best ice cream I’ve had since leaving Portland (with 1 exception in Venice). OMG! REAL pistacio ice cream. Watermelon 4 Mapes #

Serendipity

July 16th, 2008 ·

Just posting a weird coincidental occurance.

I was in Hyde Park with my family, when my wife mentioned that old game show “Child’s Play.” For those who don’t remember, the premise was that a child would describe something (on video), and the adults would try to guess and, by doing so successfully, somehow win the game.

There was this cute know-it-all type kid on the show named Sascha Segan. I was thinking about him and thought, “I should Google him when I get home.”

Of course I forgot. But I didn’t forget to read my daily Daring Fireball and, specifically, this article in which Gruber references an article by Sascha Segan who, it turns out, is the Sascha Segan I remembered.

Weird.

  • Why is the Sonic Youth “Goo” T-shirt everywhere in London. Was it on TV or something? #
  • @fredwilson Ha! Maybe I’ll bump into you—in London all week. BTW, would be curious what you think; feels like the capital of the world. #
  • Maybe going to Doctor Johnson’s House at lunch. http://bit.ly/3KQzVV Dude was such a badass; he wrote the first English dictionary. #

  • Huge London day yesterday in… Hackney. Also, Spitalfields, etc. What a cool area of town these days—20 years ago: much different! #
  • Also: I’ve never seen more diversity in humanity than in the several blocks around Brick Lane in London on a Sunday. Fascinating. #

  • @textism So true. Wasn’t a standing army on Earth that could have lasted against the Wehrmacht at that time. Peeps just don’t realize… #
  • So, how long does it take to get from Heathrow to The City. Well, for us, with not one, but two closed underground lines: 3 hours. #
