One of the best parts about being old, married and giving no more than a single shit about anything remotely related to coolness is that one can, with impunity, like things that are enjoyable rather than confrontational or trendy.
Wearing this freedom like a cape, I purchased “Thank U” by Alanis Morisette on iTunes the other day. I blasted it in the upstairs home office and enjoyed the song as I brushed my teeth down the hall.
When the song was over, my wife, who was downstairs called up, “when did you start listening to girly music?”
So much for impunity.
