Morning 40 Federation Tour!

February 4th, 2004 · 1 Comment

Attention Northeasterners, Easterners, Southerners and others around the U.S.:

The Morning 40 Federation, a phenomenon musical group from New Orleans, Louisiana, is touring the United States. I guarantee, literally, guarantee that if you go see this band, you will love it. In short, imagine filtering New Orleans roots music through a lot of malt liquor and Green Chartreuse, tempering it with some indy rock, shaking it up with some burlesque and circus freak shows, and pouring it out on a party. This is Good Times music. Remember, I guarantee it. Ask anyone who I dragged to the last Atlanta show, and they’ll agree.

I ripped this list off of the Morning 40 Federation’s website. You may want to check Pollstar for the latest tour dates. I see some serious madness to the mapping of this, and lots of gaps, so I suspect they’ll be adding dates here and there along the route.

How often do you receive a personal guarantee of quality and entertainment from a human in possession of such exemplary taste as your Narrator here at Halfass? Rarely, I say! Take advantage of your opportunity to see this group perform. It’s a great glimpse at what New Orleans and the South are all about.

NEW YORKERS: I’m sorry, but I accidentally left this post in “DRAFT” mode for a few weeks before I realized it and corrected the situation. What this means for you is that you have to rally TONIGHT if you want to see the M40s in Brooklyn. DO IT!

You should only go see this band if you like drinking, shaking your ass and fun in general. If you don’t like having fun, don’t bother. Seriously, they’re a treasure.
