Appearing in Atlanta on or around May 9th:

Maple is coming, and nothing has so fundamentally changed my outlook on life as the news I received back in August that we were successful in our efforts to spawn. I can’t go into detail on the Big Things right now, but the “nesting” has been intense. Not only did we begin preparing Maple’s room and various other areas of our home, but I felt I needed to redesign and repurpose this website to better-handle the output of all the Maple documentation and, in short, make it a more attractive place in which to showcase my great, perfect, wonderful, intelligent, beautiful, curious and presidential-nominee daughter.
I haven’t written about Maple or my wife’s pregnancy on this site because I feel like that is all between me and my wife. I’m not the one who’s pregnant. So whether you think pregnancy content is boring (it’s not, when written by Dooce) or you’re dying for more of it on the web, you won’t be getting it here. All we’re focusing on is what we can do to help her come out healthy and stay happy once she’s here.
Of course, after Maple is born you’ll be absolutely deluged with every image and MP3 and video and other methods of parental pride projection yet to be devised by humanity. But until then, just know this: Maple is coming, and soon.

Dude!! Like I said in the Apple store last weekend, I’m totally so happy for you kids. Where are the “Maple is coming” tee-shirts?

Thanks for the shouts! Robert: how nerdy are we that we live, like, a mile apart yet only see each other at the Apple store?

i was wondering if you’d ever spill the maple beans on halfass! i’m so happy for you both – i walked around saying “maple” over and over in my happiest voice for about half an hour after we read your post yesterday.
maybe we’ll rustle up a miniature “girly-man” carter for her to play with sometime soon.
anyway – smooches to you and your lovely wife – and a big old smacker to the sweet soon-to-be maple!
