Festive Up In Here

December 25th, 2003 · No Comments

It’s 7:44 A.M. I got my Turkey on at 7. Someday I will post my recipe for the Roasted Turkey Bratton-Partee Style, but I doubt it would excite my tens of readers. You see, the key to my turkey is simplicity. The stuffing excepted, we’re only dealing with three ingredients, so it’s all about technique.

As soon as my wife wakes up, I’m blasting my Christmas playlist, which has a lot of Jackson 5, Bing Crosby and Vienna Boys Choir songs. It’s about to get festive up in here, yo!

I know this site looks like ass, but I’m still working on the redesign. I’ve enlisted the assistance of some of the finest designers on Earth, so be prepared to see some excellent results. We’re talking clean, easily-navigated, xhtml/css layout here, so please be patient. Also, I was testing out my current usability on my mother-in-law and wife, neither of whom read weblogs, and they didn’t really get it. They kept clicking on the article titles from the front page to read stuff, rather than the expected behavior of scrolling down the front page. I guess that’s something we should think about: how to design a weblog that doesn’t break peoples’ normal website surfing habits, frees itself from the weblog navigation scheme, yet still serves as what amounts to a weblog.

Happy Holidays to all my peeps, family, readers and a special shoutout to all of the members of our armed forces who are sacrificing so much to preserve our freedom and deliver it to others.
