Time for a Mac!

Can anybody explain to me why I see this on my screen.

It is a contextual menu widget, that has no context and persists across applications that have been opened since it appeared. It even hangs out on the desktop.

If I click it, my DSL modem shuts down.

WTF?

    That doesn’t look like OS X to me. That’s probably your problem right there.

    That, and get an Ethernet ADSL modem and a router, already!

    Happened to me the other day after I clicked on unplug/eject icon on the system tray (external hd) and stopped after I restarted.

    The mac was doing this in ‘98.
