I found a great mashup yesterday; daytrip to heaven has the great riff from the Beatle’s “Daytripper” underneath the vocals from what is easily one of the most forgettable songs of all time “Heaven is a place on Earth” by Belinda Carlisle. Par Excellent!

Did anyone besides me see the Miss America pageant? It was sad. I watched as an entire institution crumbled from years of decay before my eyes.
Miss Big Square State, now Miss America, bowls.

Cat’s Aren’t Good at That Whole "Computer Thing"

My cat just climbed up on my laptop and planted herself on the keys for a warm nap. When I pulled her off, the screen read “Are you sure you want to delete ‘My Documents?’”
Holy cow.

This was the hot topic in the special investigations unit today. Long known to fraud investigators, the Travelers break into mainstream news with this sordid story of child abuse. Nomadic and clannish, they (allegedly) travel the country and pull various scams, largely bogus home contracting work. Odd that this is what propelled them into [...]

Periodically I come across strange sites in my research. But I ask you, what does the Story of Colors possibly have to do with Hiroshima Gas Co?
Would it be unreasonable to deny an export license on the premise that the end user is too mad to be trusted with US technology?

I was listening to “Moonlight feels right” by Starbuck the other day. It’s a pop gem from the mid 70’s and no, the band has no connection to the uber-yuppie coffee chain of the same name. The band makes it’s mark in musical history as being the first multi-Moog touring band. Their hit single “moonlight” [...]

This happened exactly one month after EDS CEO Dick Brown and his CFO signed statement and swore to Wall Street about the “veracity” of their financial statements and reporting.
So to those who tried to convince me [...]

What Goes Up…

While I feel fortunate to be very well-employed during these times of so much woe and uncertainty, I am far from enjoying work satisfaction.
Two years ago, I felt like I was on a trajectory—salary steadily and rapidly increasing; skill sets, responsibilities and overall enjoyment ever-climbing. The hours were long and hard, but the rewards [...]

Good Catch!

Despite warnings, apathy and lethargy, Paul made the call and we hit the open sea. The catch: snapper, trigger, rock salmon and grouper. I grilled a small piece of trigger last night and I can only say—WOW!
Sunburned, sore and fuzzy, we are back in Atlanta and recovering slowly. Epic, epic weekend.
