This article reads like a piece from the Onion. Sadly it isn’t. It does bring up a point that has been bothering me for some time: Why do people in certain cultures fire bullets in the air to celebrate and/or get attention? Haven’t they ever heard of gravity?

Certain cultures like New Orleans. The University of Miami mascot was impaled by a bullet, fired up in celebration ostensibly, falling back down to Earth the night prior to their Sugar Bowl routing by the Alabama Crimson Tide in 1993. I don’t believe he was wearing the duck suit at the time. But there are no surprises there-that one source of idiotic behavior like that is practiced in the Big Sleazy. Which brings up another point-the recent spread of the beads-for-flashing phenomenon. You can’t go anywhere these days without young ladies trying to show you their goods in return for some beads.

It is so they can later sue anyone who films and distributes the evidence. And please don’t smear the rest of us by calling those girls “ladies” (even ironically); one must earn that title. We have other terms for women who perform sexual acts in exchange for some kind of compensation.
