Halfass Sounds—Coming Soon!
Big Changes are coming to halfass.com in the very near future. The SOUNDS section will get a massive update (since there is absolutely NOTHING there now).
Features will include:
1) several new weblogs (for which I need authors) on the following topics: record stores, song lyrics, what you’re listening to these days, and show reviews.
2) the Busdrivers will gain a section
3) Taung Child will have a section with (eventually) every bit of recorded output available via MP3.
4) BlueberrySulpher, the electronic drum and blip excursions by J Dubose Bowers of Dedham, MA will hopefully gain a foothold.
5) Halfass West will blow up with all sorts of stuff from that crew including Extra Milk.
6) More and more, guts and gore, all that’s fit to blip and all that shit.
I am also very open to collaborative efforts on this section and am thoroughly hoping that anyone with any sort of musical input will do so. It could be really cool!
Expect to see the bones of the site up this weekend and, if you’re reading this, you will most likely see an invitation to join the related weblogs (I am using Blogger to power this because the main problem with Gray Matter is that, while it is way better than blogger, it runs on MY domain, which is blocked by my work’s proxy servers and, therefore, I can’t post from work.
To join the web logs, you will only need to click on a link in the e-mail’s you will receive. If you are already a blogger, the blogs will just be added to your existing blog list. If you are not, you will just need to establish a username and password. Blogger is totally cool and won’t spam you or sell your name to spam.
To post, you simply need to log into blogger at http://www.blogger.com and log in. Once you are in, you will see the various blogs (web logs) you can post to. Just do it. It’s truly simple—“push button publishing for the people,” as they say.
I would prefer that if you do post, you do something like this:
Topic of Post (hit enter)
(hit enter again)
Begin typing your post…
It’s that simple! Please contribute, even if you’re too cool for school.
