Trying to think of better excuses since 1995

Work was mellow

August 7th, 2001 · No Comments

Work was mellow. I put of much of what should have been done today in favor of leaving early and dialing into conference calls while killing Ashetonio Bandares via a networked game of complete and total violence. Truly fun. Now I will have to buckle down for tomorrow’s payment.

Making travel arrangements by the dozens. I need to schedule some work-related training, a trip to Colorado to visit my peeps, an excursion to Portland (again) for Bob and Kim’s wedding celebration, a trip to NYC for Hillary (my Sweety’s sister) and Steve’s wedding and the list keeps growing. We have rocked a TON of weddings this summer.

One thing I didn’t mention about the trip to PDX was the fact that Bob, ddub and I holed up in Bob’s stellar sound-proofed basement and rocked like the days of yesteryear. Of course it was a bit frazzled on the edges, and my percussive skills have certainly seen better days, but for not playing together in 4 years, it sounded pretty nice. Moody P. gave it a couple of polite thumbs up. We even busted a new Bob-Special called “Front Desk” that had a nice, sing-songy quality to it that seemed to be influenced by the need to have something to sing to his fully rocking son, Riley.

The fourth fist’s whereabouts (Scags) remain unknown at present. He has yet to return any of my calls. I remember that when he was here he was talking China, so maybe that is where he be.

I now have a focus. I need these to roll on through the daily daily crap crap and grind. My capacity for work is amazing when there is light at the tunnel. Also, exercise tip is going much, much better lately with 3 or 4 solid consecutive days of 150+BPM time ouch.

Had a huge lunch with a huge posse of technical wonks at a mildly pleasing Thai restaurant in Norcross today. I talked a lot and people seemed really amazed that I actually knew somebody who raised crawfish for consumption. Know somebody, hell—I’m related (by marriage). I’ll have to post those photos another time.
